About This Project

This was a fictional project for Fat Freddy’s Drop. They’re my dream customer, so I thought “why wait”?! This is the cover photo for their song Hope, which I think is so great they should release it as a single.

Most of the song consists of the lyrics “hope for a generation, just beyond my reach, not beyond my sight”. This makes me think of my own generation and the following ones and the great crisis we’re facing – global warming and eco system collapse… I feel that there’s still hope, there’s still so much we can do. But just like in the lyrics, it’s just beyond my reach but not beyond my sight. That’s what I hope to capture in this illustration. The threats facing the planet and the human race, but also the sense of hope that is stil there in me when I hear this song.
